International Day of Awesomeness

Awesomeness comes in all shapes, sizes, and ages. I have found an awesome community of cat lovers on Twitter, who support each other in times of celebration and sadness. They celebrate each other’s cats and the awesome work some are doing for cats that belong to no one.

There are also some awesome cats. I have one living in my house. We rescued him from the street, and he was so skittish and scared that we thought no one would want him. He turned out to be a really great foster brother for the parade of kittens who passed through our doors over the last 2 years.

A feral mama cat also came into our home ready to have her last litter and live a life of leisure with us. I am still amazed at how well she adjusted to living in the house with us.

Because of Jim, we have seen first-hand the awesomeness of cats and the people who commit to caring for them. Today we celebrate all of them.
