Today is National Sun Safety Day. Did you know that just like us, our dogs and cats can get sunburned, heatstroke, and skin cancer just from playing or laying out in the sun for too long? Did you know that Sunscreen for your dog is a real thing? Did you know that white, light-colored, furless, and those who are losing fur are the most susceptible to Solar Dermatitis and skin cancer?
As always and by law, your dog or cat must have a place to go to get out of the sun when they get too hot. They need fresh cool water, preferably in a non-heat conducting material. And remember if it's too hot for our feet it's too hot for theirs too. If you can't keep your hand on the ground for 7 whole seconds, IT'S TOO HOT
