Did you know that a cat in heat can attract intact male cats from as much as 2 miles away? That drive can cause many cats to take risks that could get them hit by a car or become injured or diseased as FIV the feline equivalent of HIV, is transmitted through blood in cats.

Did you know that altered cats are less likely to roam? We know that some of you do not keep your cats inside. Did you also know that a cat who lives in a rural area has a larger range than an urban cat? That means if Kitty gets lost in the city, they are likely to be closer to home than you think, or they have been picked up and taken away.

There are benefits from spay and neuter to both cats and cat parents. In behavior, in disease prevention, and in overall wellbeing, parents and fur kids alike live happier more loving and longer lives.

The most important reason to have your cat spayed or neutered is to save lives by preventing unwanted kittens. Approximately 1.4 million cats are euthanized each year in shelters. That number is higher than the adoption rate.
