Grifton writer Gwen W Segal, author of Because of Jim: a Story of 17 Rescues in the Height of COVID and Mostly True Tales from Wild Serenity, will be signing books at the Senior Center Farmers Market on Saturday, January 27th, and again on February 10th from 8 AM to 1 PM
Gwen will also be at the Grifton Shad Festival on Saturday, February 17th, from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Gwen is looking forward to meeting new people and swapping stories with all kinds of animal lovers. If you can’t make it to the farmer’s market or the Shad Festival but still want her books, both are available on Amazon.

Segal has dedicated all of the royalties for both books and the proceeds from the cat toys to a fund she created to help others who do the difficult work of animal rescue, TNR, and fostering and to help with medical expenses. The Wild Serenity Cat Rescue Fund has written checks to Saving Graces 4 Felines, Gandolf’s Legacy, Meowland, and others. This quarter’s royalties will go to the Pitt County Animal Shelter, where Segal has been volunteering as a Mutt Strutter. The money raised will help sponsor animals who have been in the shelter the longest by covering some of their medical cost. Segal’s goal is to end animal homelessness one story at a time.
